Upon retirement, Alex attended many art classes and seminars offered by the Balkwill and Rosemont Art Centers, the University Extension and the University Senior's Group.
During this time he studied techniques in color, composition and drawing.
As well, he developed his skill with watercolor, oils, acrylic and pastels.
It is, however, wood corving and the use of scratchboard that make Alex's work unique.   He paints still life, landscapes, portraits, and wildlife.   He also loves carving birds and fish from wood. |
